Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Passage Lens is a Bible study and reference tool. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to request deletion.
Information you provide
If you create an account, we process account data such as your email address, login information, authentication state, and account settings. If you use study features, we may process user-generated content and activity such as questions, notes, highlights, saved chats, study interactions, selected passages, language preferences, and similar app usage data.
Ask and AI processing
Passage Lens uses AI-powered features to generate scripture-grounded responses. When you use Ask, your question and relevant Bible passage or study context may be processed by third-party AI/service providers, including OpenAI, to generate answers. Do not include sensitive personal information in questions.
How we use information
We use information to operate Passage Lens, provide account access, keep accounts secure, provide saved study features, enforce account limits and entitlements, improve quality, monitor reliability, respond to support requests, and communicate about important account or product matters.
Analytics, diagnostics, and errors
Passage Lens uses privacy-bounded product analytics, provided through PostHog, to understand feature use and improve the app. These analytics may include platform, locale, app version and build, bounded campaign attribution, and feature interaction events. After sign-in, events may be associated with your internal account ID. Product analytics do not include question text, generated answer text, selected Bible passage text or reference, notes, highlights, email address, billing details, or sensitive personal information. The website may also use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, and configured services may process bounded diagnostics or error information through Sentry.
Service providers
Passage Lens uses service providers to operate the product. Based on the current app configuration, these include Supabase for authentication and database or storage features, OpenAI for AI answer generation, Stripe for payment and account infrastructure where applicable, Vercel for hosting, analytics, and speed insights, PostHog for product analytics, and Sentry for error monitoring. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Cookies, sessions, and local storage
Passage Lens uses cookies, local storage, secure device storage, and session-based authentication to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember preferences, and support account-based features.
Outbound links
Passage Lens may link to third-party Bible study resources. If you open those links, your interaction with those sites is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Data retention and deletion
We keep account, saved study, support, usage, and diagnostic data for as long as needed to operate Passage Lens, maintain security, resolve issues, comply with legal or operational requirements, and keep backups for a limited period. You can request account deletion at /delete-account or by contacting support@passagelens.com.
